Breath of Spring

Embrace renewal with the Breath of Spring.

The inhale: a fresh breeze, the scent of blossoming flowers

The exhale: a gentle whisper, creating space within, reflecting on the past

As the seasons shift from winter to spring, we experience great inner change and growth.

Winter is a period of reflection, retreating inwards, reflecting on the past. Spring is representative of new growth, blossoming, and rebirth.

Yoga Retreat • March 29 - April 5, 2025

PORTUGAL

We will be staying at a gorgeous retreat center in Portugal, Bodhi Bhavan. The name of the retreat space comes from Sanksrit, Bodhi means the illuminated, enlightened, or awakened mind. The Buddha reached enlightenment while seated beneath a Bodhi Tree. Bhavan is reflective of the qualities presented on the retreat property. Derived from Bhavana, meaning home or dwelling, and symbolizing a place where growth and transformation flourish.

Nestled high in the mountains of the Portuguese Algarve, Bodhi Bhavan offers awe-inspiring views of the Monchique Mountains, which mark the boundary between Algarve and Alentejo. The property is a sanctuary, surrounded by lush, blooming gardens, and features both an indoor yoga shala and a serene outdoor swimming pool, harmoniously integrating with the natural beauty of the landscape. The nearby town of Monchique is filled with quaint cobblestone streets, providing a picturesque setting for leisurely strolls. Additionally, the stunning southern coast of the Algarve is just a 30-minute drive away, offering us the opportunity to enjoy the region’s spectacular beaches.

Where We Stay

The property consists of seven charming rooms, each adorned with abundant natural light and distinctive decor. The property has flourishing gardens, open patios, and an exquisite pool, creating a picturesque environment. If you have an affinity for subtle elegance, a spirit of adventure, and the allure of breathtaking beaches, this retreat is made for you. Pricing will vary depending on the room selection, and the retreat accommodates a maximum of fourteen individuals, ensuring an intimate and personalized experience. With numerous inviting areas to lounge, unwind, read, and engage in various activities, the space provides ample opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation.

The Retreat

Bri and Nina are devoted yoga instructors, both with a passion for guiding practitioners through Vinyasa and Katonah-inspired yoga. In addition to their shared expertise, Bri brings her teaching experience in Yin and breathwork, while Nina has a foundation in Bikram and Ashtanga.

The essence of this retreat centers around the theme of the Breath of Spring. Taking place in early April to celebrate the blossoming and rebirth of spring, the program encourages participants to discover grounding and softness through movement, exploration, and balance. As we transition out of the winter months and into warmer weather, we notice a shift as life and movement return to one still land.

The retreat offers a harmonious blend of invigorating and grounding practices, ensuring a well-rounded and enriching experience. During the retreat, you will be offered nourishing meals each day prepared by a private chef on the property. Meals will be filled with local, nourishing ingredients. If you have any questions regarding dietary restrictions or allergies, please email us!
